Erik Langereis started as managing director at Metalot, starting September first. Financial director Jan Vlassak welcomed Erik at his start: “Next to the executive activities Erik will give direction to the new Hydrogen program of Metalot, besides its focus areas Metal Fuels and Battery technology.”
Langereis is looking forward to work at Metalot and the new experiences that come with it, both concerning the business operations and teaming up with partners to work on innovative sustainable technologies and their prototypes . “This way I want to deliver a concrete, tangible contribution to the energy transition.”
With his background at the research institute DIFFER, Langereis is familiar with the energy-research field. The coming period he will take a good look at Metalot as an organization and which role it takes in the innovative ecosystem. Langereis: “My scientific background is of good use to translate the innovative challenges to an overarching story. I find it very interesting to learn more about metal fuels and their circular use, and the technological solutions needed to demonstrate these metal powders on a scale that is relevant for businesses and industry. The role of hydrogen to regenerate the iron powder is evident and I am very curious to see which direction the hydrogen focus area will move within Metalot.”
CEO Philip de Goey: “Metalot as an organization has gone through rapid developments. With the appointment of Erik and his effort four days a week, I believe we are going the right way. I am looking forward to the collaboration and the steps we are going to take, together.”
